Your job will be to identify and mark nest sites using Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment. You’ll also record egg-clutch temperature and humidity, measure eggs and hatchlings, collect special “oil eggs” to help identify their function, and, on occasion, work through the night documenting turtles’ egg laying. November, the hatching season, is especially busy. You will record hatching success, measure up to 12,000 hatchlings, and transport them to a nursery where their shells can harden before you escort them to the water. Every volunteer helps stem the rising threat of extinction for these unique rainforest turtles
